Crosscut Budget

Executive Order 13751 calls upon federal agencies to ensure that their invasive species-related activities are complementary, cost-efficient, and effective. As part of this effort, annual invasive species crosscut budget analyses have been compiled to inform a coordinated multi-departmental approach to meeting high-priority invasive species activities. The NISC Crosscut Budgets reflect differences in invasive species budget allocations across the NISC Member Departments/Agencies and over time, as well as increasing interest in federal spending from Congress and non-federal stakeholders. Analyses of spending are also complemented by efforts to estimate quantitatively the impacts of invasive species. Better understanding of the costs of invasion can help guide resources and activities to manage invasive species.
