WASHINGTON (April 12, 2018) - The Department of the Interior’s Office of Insular Affairs is pleased to announce open applications for the 2018-2019 cohort of the Executive Leadership Development Program (ELDP) for candidates from the U.S. territories of American Samoa, Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and from the freely associated states –the Republic of Palau, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Federated States of Micronesia.

Interior Announces $653,003 for Judicial Education and Development in U.S.-Affiliated Pacific Island Areas

WASHINGTON – U.S. Interior Assistant Secretary - Insular and International Affairs Doug Domenech has authorized a payment of $653,003 to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Council Pacific Islands Committee to provide and oversee legal training for FY2018 in the judiciaries of the U.S. Territories of American Samoa, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands, as well as the freely associated states of Micronesia, Marshall Islands, and Palau.

Interior Assistant Secretary Domenech Visits the USVI

 WASHINGTON – Today U.S. Interior Assistant Secretary Insular and International Affairs Doug Domenech met with U.S. Virgin Islands (VI) and FEMA officials in St. Croix to review hurricane rebuilding efforts.  He provided $2.8 million in federal grants for rebuilding infrastructure and utilities.
