Audrey Story, Chief of Staff

As the Chief of Staff at the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) of the U.S. Department of the Interior, Audrey Story brings over two decades of federal IT management experience and multiple certifications to the role. She is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, communication, and performance of the OCIO, ensuring alignment with the Department's mission, vision, and values. She coordinates and collaborates with the senior IT leadership, the CIO Council, and other key stakeholders to advance the IT priorities and initiatives of the Department, such as modernizing its IT infrastructure, enhancing its cybersecurity posture, and optimizing its IT service delivery. Before joining Interior, Audrey served as the Deputy Chief Information Officer at the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), and as the Division Director of Technology, Innovation Compliance, a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. There, she led an IT technology portfolio of $253 million. In this role, Audrey was responsible for portfolio management and governance, IT security and risk management, and IT modernization and transformation functions. Audrey has a strong background in cybersecurity and data analysis, having completed an MS in Cybersecurity from Norfolk State University. Passionate about delivering stellar customer service and leveraging IT to achieve innovation, Audrey is committed to fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and excellence among IT staff and stakeholders. She is PMP certified, holding an MBA from Central University and a BA from Alabama A&M University.
