President Donald Trump today proposed $608 million for Fiscal Year 2019 through the Office of Insular Affairs (OIA) for the benefit of fellow Americans in the U.S. Territories of Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, as well for our friends in the Republic of Palau, the Federated States of Micronesia, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

Interior Announces $12.8 Million for Hawaii in 2018 Compact Impact Funding

WASHINGTON (January 19, 2018) – U.S. Department of the Interior Assistant Secretary for Insular Areas Doug Domenech has announced that $12,762,262 will be Hawaii’s share of 2018 Compact Impact funding provided under U.S. Public Law 108-188.  The funding will be provided to the Department of Human Services to help defray costs associated with providing education, public health, and public safety-related services to migrants from the freely associated states of Micronesia, Marshalls, and Palau who have migrated to Hawaii.

Interior Moves to Protect Continuity of Healthcare for Four Atoll Communities in Marshall Islands

WASHINGTON – U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke has directed the Office of Insular Affairs to authorize a partial funding amount of $721,320, to the Ministry of Health in the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) for the Four Atoll Health Care Program for the people of Bikini, Enewetak, Rongelap, and Utrok.  The Secretary is concerned about the threat to the continuity of services under this program.

Guam’s $14.9 Million Share of 2018 Compact Impact Funding to Support Government Operations and School Building Lease Payments
