Domenech has approved the redirection of $366,000 in fiscal year 2019 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) funding provided last year to the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) to now be used for infrastructure development in the territory.

The Trump Administration announced $3,036,291 in fiscal year 2020 grant funding to support the U.S. Virgin Islands through the Office of Insular Affairs’ Technical Assistance Program. Funds will be used to streamline government operations, incorporate online payment services for taxpayers, and improve the management and utilization of federal grants in the territory.

DOI Assistant Secretary Domenech today announced the publication of three technical notes from the Graduate School USA’s Economic Monitoring and Analysis Program (EconMAP) providing an initial assessment of the economic impacts of the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau.
