Federal Subsistence Board to hold public meeting to consider proposals to change Federal subsistence hunting and trapping regulations

PUBLIC NOTICE - The Federal Subsistence Board (Board) will meet at the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel at 4800 Spenard Road in Anchorage, Alaska, April 2-5, 2024, to consider proposed changes to Federal subsistence hunting and trapping regulations for the 2024-2026 regulatory years and wildlife closure reviews. The Board will discuss other subsistence related topics to include RFR22-01 (request for reconsideration of fisheries proposal FP21-01), Delegation of Authority letters regarding Unit 6 Deer/Moose and Unit 17A and 17C Nushagak Caribou, as well as receive a Council Correspondence update. The regulatory proposals may be viewed at https://www.doi.gov/subsistence/current-proposals.

The Board encourages the public to participate in person. The public may also participate via Microsoft Teams meeting link shared on our website or via teleconference. There will be opportunities for the public to testify on both agenda and non-agenda items throughout the meeting. Public comments on general, non-agenda subsistence issues will be welcomed at the start of each day. The public will be provided opportunities to comment on specific hunting and trapping proposals and closure reviews as the Board considers them.
