Chignik River Federal Subsistence Fishery for Sockeye Salmon

Reminder: The emergency special action (8-SS-01-18), which closed Federal public waters of the Chignik River drainage to the harvest of Sockeye Salmon except by Federally qualified subsistence users who are in the possession of a Social and Cultural Harvest Permit, will expire at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday July 31, 2018. Beginning 12:00 a.m. on Wednesday August 1, 2018 there will be no restrictions to Sockeye Salmon harvest on Federal public waters of the Chignik River drainage.

Social and Cultural permits issued to the villages of Chignik Bay, Chignik Lagoon, Chignik Lake, Ivanof Bay, or Perryville must be returned to the Federal in-season manager. Fishers are reminded to consult with Federal and State fishing regulations in the area they intend to fish.

The emergency special action (8-KS-01-18), which closes Federal public waters of the Chignik River drainage to the harvest of Chinook Salmon, remains in effect until 11:59 p.m. Thursday August 9, 2018.
