The Mayflower Oil Spill NRDAR Trustees are proposing a settlement with the ExxonMobil Pipeline Company, LLC. and Mobil Pipe Line Company to restore natural resources and use of natural resources and natural resource services injured by the discharge of heavy crude oil from the Pegasus Pipeline on March 29, 2013, in Mayflower, Arkansas. The Trustees are seeking public input on a draft restoration plan proposing activities to fund forested habitat acquisition, conversion of agricultural lands to moist soil units for migratory waterfowl, and programs and/or infrastructure to enhance recreational fishing opportunities.

The draft restoration plan is now open for public comment through July 10, 2024. Concurrent with release of this draft plan, on June 3, 2024, the U.S. Department of Justice lodged the Consent Decree and filed the Complaint with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas. These documents are also available for viewing and comment at the U.S. Department of Justice’s website at https://www.justice.gov/enrd/consent-decree/us-et-al-v-exxonmobil-pipeline-company-llc-et-al.
