New Subsistence Drawing Hunts Offered for GMU 15

The Kenai National Wildlife Refuge Manager, under authority of the Federal Subsistence Board announces the open application period for 3 new draw hunts for Mountain Goat, Sheep, and Caribou in GMU 15 on the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. Applications may be submitted by calling Todd Eskelin at (907) 398-9553.

You must be a Federally qualified resident from the communities of Hope, Cooper Landing, Ninilchik, Seldovia, Port Graham, or Nanwalek to apply. The application deadline is Friday July 24th, 2020 at 4:30 pm. No applications will be accepted after

that time. Contingent on Federal Subsistence Board action the drawing will be conducted and winners contacted by Monday July 27, 2020.

For the 2020 season the following permits will be available:

One Mountain Goat permit will be available for each hunt area (DG356 and DG360). Winners will be drawn from applicants from Hope, Cooper Landing, Ninilchik, Seldovia, Port Graham, and Nanwalek. Winners will select the subunit in the order they are drawn.

Two Caribou permits will be drawn for the Killey River Caribou Herd from applicants from Hope, Cooper Landing, Ninilchik, Seldovia, Port Graham, and Nanwalek.

One Sheep permit will be drawn from applicants from Ninilchik.
