Federal Subsistence Board work session rescheduled for February 22 – 23, 2018

The Federal Subsistence Board (Board) will hold a work session February 22 – 23, 2018, in the Denali Room on the fourth floor of the Federal Building at 222 W. 7th Avenue in Anchorage. The meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. on February 22 and at 8:30 a.m. on February 23. This work session was originally planned for January 2018, but was rescheduled due to the January 22, 2018 government shutdown.

During the work session, the Board will consider projects proposed for funding under the 2018 Fisheries Resource Monitoring Program. Additionally, the Board will discuss or receive briefings on Delegation of Authority to Federal Officials in the Kuskokwim and Cook Inlet areas, the Cook Inlet Area Federal Subsistence Fisheries Regulations Revision Proposed Rule, and potential revisions to the Board policy on closures. The Board will also hear updates on Regional Advisory Council Appointment Vetting and Charter Revisions, and Tribal engagement. The Board may discuss other business items. No regulatory decisions will be made during this work session.

The public is invited to attend either in person or by teleconference; however, general public comment will not be taken during this session. Those attending in person must enter the Federal Building through a security checkpoint, and will need photo identification.
