Interior's Bureaus share a wide range of responsibilities for ocean, Great Lakes and coastal resources ranging from stewardship of vast land, coastal and ocean areas to ensuring safe and sustainable management of our Nation's energy resources. The Ocean, Great Lakes and Coastal Program coordinates efforts across the Department to ensure ocean and coastal-related programs in all bureaus support stewardship, collaborative conservation and management nation’s ocean, Great Lakes and coastal resources. 

The Senior Ocean Policy Team includes representatives from Interior bureaus and offices that have ocean, Great Lakes and coastal responsibilities. This team facilitates coordination and consistency among ocean management agencies and coordinates expertise within and across bureaus to oversee policy and program management. Across the nation, Interior leadership participates in regional ocean partnerships and regional planning bodies to help coordinate information, planning and policies as they pertain to ocean and coastal resource management needs.
