Renee Bear Medicine Appointed New Curator of the Museum of the Plains Indian

BROWNING, MONTANA:  The U.S. Department of the Interior, Indian Arts and Crafts Board, is pleased to announce that Renee Bear Medicine has been appointed new Curator of the Museum of the Plains Indian.   
 
Ms. Bear Medicine is currently the Museum Aid at the Museum of the Plains Indian, where she has worked since 2017.  She has been instrumental in efforts to preserve Native American cultural and historical artifacts for future generations as well as promoting and presenting the work of contemporary Native American artists.   
 
Ms. Bear Medicine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Montana.  She previously held the position of Library Technician at Blackfeet Community College, where she worked to preserve archival materials related to the Blackfeet Tribe’s history. 
 
In her new role, Ms. Bear Medicine will oversee the Museum’s exhibitions of contemporary Native American artists as well as educational programming and associated activities.  She will also be responsible for the overall care and maintenance of the museum facility.
