The Federal Subsistence Board (Board) is accepting written comments through June 30, 2023, on proposed changes to Federal subsistence hunting and trapping regulations.  These proposed changes would affect Federal subsistence open seasons, harvest limits for the 2024-2026 regulatory years.

Comments must reference the proposal number and should be sent to Theo Matuskowitz by email at subsistence@fws.gov.  Those without e-mail access can mail them to:

Federal Subsistence Board
Attn: Theo Matuskowitz

To ensure written comments are included in OSM regulatory analyses, comments must be received or postmarked by June 30, 2023.  Hand delivery of comments to the USFWS Regional Office in Anchorage will not be accepted.  In addition to written comments, the public is welcome to provide oral or written comments at the Regional Advisory Council meetings being held September through November 2023, or at the Federal Subsistence Board meeting in January 2024; however, these comments will not be included in the proposal analyses.

After December 31, 2023, anyone wishing to provide written comments may do so only by delivering them directly to the Board at its regulatory meeting scheduled to occur in January 2023.  The commenter must include 30 copies of their written comments for distribution at the meeting.  No written comments will otherwise be accepted after that deadline.
