Public Hearing announced for Wildlife Temporary Special Action Request WSA19-03 for Unit 13 moose and caribou

A public hearing is scheduled for 6:00–9:00 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2019, at the Wrangell St. Elias National Park and Preserve Visitor Center in Copper Center, to receive testimony on a temporary special action request submitted to the Federal Subsistence Board (Board).

Temporary Special Action request WSA19-03, submitted by Paul Rude, requests that the Board close Federal public lands in Unit 13 to the hunting of caribou and moose except by Federally qualified subsistence users for the 2019–2020 season.

At this meeting, the public will have an opportunity to provide testimony to representatives of the Federal Subsistence Management Program. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend this hearing in person or by calling the telephone number provided below. When prompted, enter the passcode. Comments will be forwarded to the Board for consideration on this temporary special action request.
