Federal Subsistence Mountain Goat drawing application period Chugach National Forest Unit 7

Seward, Alaska – The Chugach National Forest, under authority delegated by the Federal Subsistence Board, is announcing the application period for a new Federal Subsistence Mountain Goat drawing hunt in Unit 7 on the Seward Ranger District.

Federal qualified rural residents of Chenega Bay, Cooper Landing, Hope, Nanwalek, Ninilchik, Port Graham, Seldovia, or Tatitlek may apply for this drawing hunt. The application period is open from June 1, 2020 through June 30, 2020. Application forms are available at https://bit.ly/2XaJkKV and need to be postmarked or faxed by June 30, 2020.

For the 2020 season, two permits will be drawn. Drawn applicants will be notified by July 20. Winners will select subunits in the order they were drawn. Subunits available in 2020 will be the federal portions of MG342 and MG346. The mountain goat season hunt dates are from August 10, 2020 through November 14, 2020.
