Federal Subsistence Board to hold work session via teleconference, August 4–5, 2021

The Federal Subsistence Board (Board) will hold a work session August 4–5, 2021, by teleconference. The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. daily, and will adjourn at 5:00 p.m, or when the Board has completed its work.

During the work session, the Board will discuss and take action on Temporary Wildlife Special Action Request WSA21-03 (regarding extension of the fall moose season in the Kuskokwim hunt area of Unit 18); Individual Customary and Traditional Use Determination Proposal ICTP21-01; Regional Advisory Council Annual Report Replies and Charter Change Requests; and the Forty Mile Caribou Herd Delegation of Authority Letter. The Board will also hear an update on the Nonrural Policy Regulatory Cycle and will discuss meeting dates for its January work session. The Board may discuss other business items.

In addition to the public work session, the Federal Subsistence Board will hold an executive session on August 5, 2021. The purpose of the meeting is to review and approve recommendations for appointments to the Regional Advisory Councils for submittal to the Secretaries of Interior and Agriculture, and to engage in attorney-client discussions pertaining to current litigation. The meeting will be closed to the public. A summary of the executive session will be made available to the Federal Subsistence Regional Advisory Councils and, upon request, the public.
