2017 Yukon River Fall Salmon Fishery News Release # 62 Yukon River District 6 Subsistence and Personal Use Fishing

Districts Affected: Upper Yukon Area

Fall Season Emergency Order # 54

The 2017 fall chum salmon total run size projection, based on inseason assessment, is 2.5 million fish. This level of abundance should be sufficient to provide for escapement, an above average subsistence harvest, and a surplus available for commercial and personal use purposes. Therefore, the department is relaxing the subsistence and personal use fishing schedule to 24 hours per day, 7 days per week for the remainder of the fall season.
