Federal Subsistence Board to hold work session via teleconference, August 4–5, 2020

The Federal Subsistence Board (Board) will hold a work session August 4–5, 2020, by teleconference. The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. daily.

During the work session, the Board will discuss and take action on Regional Advisory Council Annual Report Replies; the process for individual Customary and Traditional Use Determinations; and proposed revisions to the Board’s nonrural determination policy, closure policy, and Tribal Consultation Implementation Guidelines. The Board will also discuss Request for Reconsideration RFR15-01, regarding the use of a community gillnet in the Kenai River for Ninilchik residents; and deferred proposal WP20-26, regarding use of snowmachines to position wolves and wolverines for harvest on Bureau of Land Management lands in Units 9B, 9C, 17B, and 17C. The Board may also discuss other business items. No regulatory decisions will be made during this work session.
