Temporary Special Action Request WSA19-08, submitted by the Denali Subsistence Resource Commission, requests that the Board change the harvest limit and season for ptarmigan in Unit 13E. Specifically, WSA19-08 requests reducing the harvest limit from 20 ptarmigan per day, 40 in possession to 10 ptarmigan per day, 20 in possession, and closing the season on February 15 rather than on March 31.

Local observations report declines in the Unit 13E ptarmigan population. These requested changes would align Federal regulations with recent changes to State regulations for ptarmigan in Unit 13E for the 2019/20 regulatory year.

The public is encouraged to attend this hearing in person or by calling the telephone number below. When prompted, enter the passcode. Comments will be forwarded to the Board for consideration.
