Southern Plains Indian Museum to Feature Halloween Storytelling Event

ANADARKO, OKLAHOMA: The Southern Plains Indian Museum, administered by the Indian Arts and Crafts Board of the U.S. Department of the Interior, in partnership with the Southern Plains Community Arts Association, will host a Halloween storytelling event on October 26, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
 
Activities will include:
 
1. Pumpkin decorating contest with two categories, painting and carved. Participants must bring their own pumpkin. The contest is for ages 5 through 15. Entries will be accepted from 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., with judging to follow.
2. A costume contest from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
3. A showing of Halloween-themed films.
4. Open mic storytelling will begin at 6:00 p.m. with Bruce “The Pawnee Wolfman” Caesar serving as emcee.
 
Refreshments will be served and take home treat bags will be given out courtesy of the Southern Plains Community Arts Association. This event is free and open to the public. All storytellers are welcome.
 
The Southern Plains Indian Museum is managed by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Indian Arts and Crafts Board. Regular viewing hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All exhibits at the museum are free and open to the public.
