WASHINGTON, D.C. – Deputy Secretary of the Interior Lynn Scarlett and Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Dale Hall will hold a 3 p.m. EDT teleconference today to discuss a proposal to add 48 species found only on the island of Kauai, Hawaii to the federal endangered species list and designate critical habitat. The proposal uses a newly developed, ecosystem-based approach to species conservation.
