Who: | Take Pride in America® Voluntour Across America, Heartland Voluntour joins employees from Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Georgetown, Kentucky for a National Public Lands Day event. |
What: | The final event for the Take Pride in America, Heartland Voluntour. Volunteers will build a 200-ft. boardwalk to allow handicap access along the "Toyota HabiTrek Trail," perform several general clean up & maintenance projects, and create two additional short trails within the exhibit area. |

Directions: | The Salato Center is located on the grounds of the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Resources Headquarters. From I-64 at Frankfort, take exit 53B to US 127 north and travel 1.5 miles to US 60. Turn left and drive 1.7 miles west on US 60 to the entrance of the KDFWR on the right. Turn right into the complex and proceed ahead 0.5 miles to the Salato Wildlife Education Center. |
This leg of the Toyota-sponsored nationwide "Voluntour Across America" trip called the "Heartland Voluntour" features Take Pride in America staff traveling in a Toyota Highlander to wildlife refuges, schools, and state parks, all to recognize the efforts and impact of volunteers in different settings. Earlier this year, the Voluntour Across America logged more than 5,200 miles, as Take Pride in America staff traveled through the West Coast and the Southeast in a Toyota hybrid participating in a wide range of events to promote volunteerism on public lands.
