Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne, on Monday, December 17, at the Florida Governor’s Mansion, will meet with Florida Governor Charlie Crist, Alabama Governor Bob Riley and Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue. During the meeting, the Secretary and the governors will discuss water issues associated with the drought affecting the southeastern U.S. The upcoming meeting follows a November 1 meeting hosted by Secretary Kempthorne in Washington.
