TAKE PRIDE IN AMERICA® ANNOUNCES ONGOING PARTNERSHIP WITH TOYOTA

Washington, DC — Take Pride in America announced today that Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. will continue their partnership with the Take Pride program in 2007. Toyota first partnered with a Take Pride event in 2006 and plans to expand their support in 2007 and 2008.

"I am thrilled that Toyota has chosen to join Take Pride in America in our ongoing commitment to volunteerism”, said Heather Roebke, executive director of Take Pride. “It is our mission to help instill in today's youth the importance of taking care of the shared spaces we all enjoy, and we are so grateful for Toyota's partnership in this cause."

Specifically, Toyota and Take Pride will focus on the Take Pride in America Schools program with a new campaign called Creating a New Generation of Volunteers. The public awareness campaign will teach students the importance of caring for public lands and the environment. Toyota will donate a Prius to be used by Take Pride in their Voluntours, a series of regional tours which will promote the program and recognize participating Take Pride schools. Additionally, Toyota will sponsor the Take Pride in America School Award which will be presented to the school with the most active volunteer participation and community impact.

Take Pride in America® is a national partnership program aimed at increasing volunteer service on America’s public lands. It is the goal of Take Pride to empower volunteers from every corner of America to maintain and enhance our natural, cultural, and historical sites. Take Pride encourages citizen stewardship through an innovative public awareness campaign and an interactive website that showcases volunteer opportunities at natural and cultural sites.
