Currently, Burns serves as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Information Resources Management and Chief Information Officer in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs.

"Throughout his career, Brian has established himself as an expert in information management and technology," said Cason. "As a result of his move to this Department-level position, the entire Department will benefit from this expertise."
