Secretary Norton to Visit Airstream, INC in Jackson Center

 

JACKSON CENTER, OHIO - Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton and other dignitaries will tour the headquarters of Airstream, Inc. in Jackson Center on Monday, Oct. 25. Norton will announce Airstream's leading role in an upcoming Take Pride in America event in summer 2005, which marks Airstream's 75th anniversary. The Secretary also will present the Go RVing Coalition with a special award for sharing information about recreation opportunities on public lands.

.Airstream, Inc. is the flagship company of Thor Industries, Inc., the largest manufacturer of recreation vehicles and mid-sized buses in North America.

Take Pride in America is a national partnership managed by the Interior Department that encourages, supports and recognizes volunteers who work to improve our public parks, forests, grasslands, reservoirs, wildlife refuges, cultural and historic sites, local playgrounds, and other recreation areas.

Airstream is one of 100 Charter Partners of Take Pride, along with federal, state and local governments; conservation, youth and recreation groups; and other top national corporations.
