Assistant Interior Secretary Scarlett to Meet Wisconsin Conservation Partners, Present $1 Million NAWCA Grant for Rush Lake Restoration

On Thursday, Oct. 14, Lynn Scarlett, Assistant Secretary for the U.S. Department of the Interior, will be at Rush Lake, southwest of Oshkosh, Wisc., to meet with partners in the effort to restore Rush Lake and present a $1 million North American Wetland Conservation Grant Award check to Ducks Unlimited for work at the Lake. Ms. Scarlett will meet with representatives from Ducks Unlimited and other partners involved in the project to discuss plans to replace the lake's water control structure and improve its ability to support waterfowl and other wildlife.

Assistant Secretary Scarlett will meet with representatives of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Rush Lake Restoration, Inc., Ducks Unlimited, and residents of Rush Lake.

Members of the media are invited to attend the presentation; opportunities for interviews with the Assistant Secretary and others will be available.
