This program is FREE with reservations. The full program description and free tickets are available via the festival site. The film package is viewable March 18-27, 2022, with the virtual live event occurring on March 22, 2022.

2022 marks the eleventh year of the Interior Museum collaborating as a co-presenter with the Environmental Film Festival in the Nation's Capital, the world's largest green film festival and the longest-running in the United States. This year's 30th festival is entirely virtual.

For the first time, we’re joining in co-presenting a compilation of 11 student films made possible through a long-standing partnership between the National Park Service and the Center for Environmental Filmmaking at American University. Thanks to paid fellowships provided by the National Park Service, American University film students have the unparalleled opportunity to work in the field as visual storytellers with scientists, park managers, communicators, and others.

This virtual lineup includes …

  • a welcome from the Interior Museum's chief curator and the Department of the Interior's Environmental Justice Program coordinator;
  • 11 film shorts featuring landscape-scale Biosphere regions; Tlingit cultural practices within Glacier Bay National Park; and historically significant scientific research in Everglades National Park, Indiana Dunes National Park, and Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument; plus
  • access to a virtual live event on March 22  hosted by the Center for Environmental Filmmaking and featuring a moderated discussion with the filmmakers and their National Park Service mentors.
