The Southern Plains Indian Museum to Host Moccasin Making Workshop

ANADARKO, OKLAHOMA: The Southern Plains Indian Museum, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Indian Arts and Crafts Board, in conjunction with the Southern Plains Community Arts Association, will host a moccasin making workshop on December 13, 14, and 15, 2022. 

Each session will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Participants must attend all three classes to complete the workshop.  In the workshop participants will have the opportunity to create a pair of handmade baby moccasins in either the plains or woodlands style.  This workshop is designed to provide participants the chance to learn a traditional Native American art form.    

This workshop is free and all supplies will be provided.  Registration will be open November 28 through December 5, 2022.  Reservations are required for each participant and are on a first come, first serve basis.
