Chapter 9: OFFICES UNDER THE ASSISTANT SECRETARY - INDIAN AFFAIRS, DEPUTY ASSISTANT SECRETARY FOR MANAGEMENT

This Departmental Manual (DM) release documents the realignment of the Office of the Chief Information Officer (Indian Affairs).  It includes changes to 110 DM 8, 130 DM 9, and 130 DM 10 as follows:  

The Office of the Chief Information Officer/CIO which formerly reported to the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Office of the Assistant Secretary - Indian Affairs is realigned under the Deputy Assistant Secretary - Management in the Office of the Assistant Secretary - Indian Affairs (110 DM 8).  The organizations reporting to the CIO which were called “offices” are now divisions.     

The functional description for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Information Operations that reports to the Office of the Chief Information Officer is removed from 130 DM 10 and incorporated into  130 DM 9 along with the other offices under the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary - Management.  

Chapter 130 DM 10 is removed from the DM.
