Chapter 1: COORDINATION OF FEDERAL ACTIVITIES IN THE ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN WATER DATA

This release transfers the responsibility for execution of the functions described in Office of Management and Budget Circular A-67 to the Assistant Secretary - Water and Science, as mandated by Secretarial Order No. 3099 dated December 22, 1983.  A redefinition of functions performed by the Office of Water Data Coordination and the Water Resources Division is also provided.

The principal changes reflected in this revision are: (1) Transfer of responsibility from the Assistant Secretary - Energy and Minerals to the Assistant Secretary - Water and Science; (2) Redefinition of Office of Water Data Coordination responsibility to include providing leadership in the implementation of Circular A-67; (3) Redefinition of Water Resources Division responsibility to include District and Regional coordination functions required for the implementation of Circular A-67, with general oversight and guidance from the Office of Water Data Coordination.
